Battletech Map Sized Hex Bases

Every time that I go to put a Battletech miniature onto a standard hex base, I always have to dress it up by building something each time. This has the quality of making each unique, certainly aesthetically pleasing, but sometimes impractical. Since I was working with molds anyway, I went ahead and carved a master hex base complete with crumbling wall, rubble, cracks in pavement, and broken area of the pavement. Then I made a latex mold of the master. Then I cast one in resin. It came out surprisingly well! Now I have a mold to make a type of standard Battletech hex width bases with some details.

After I took these pictures, which admittedly are hard to see given the unpainted white that the cast resin looks like after it hardens, I mounted a Mongoose on the base to paint up. I'm excited about what the finished product will look like!
