Okay, so after long absence, I finally got to play some Battletech yesterday. The whole COVID-19 thing made getting together for a game... uh... "problematic". In any case, that got the bug in me to prepare for the game yesterday by painting up a new mech. I also picked up an second Omega for my collection as well as a K-2 Catapult. I also rooted around my Battletech stuff that was collecting dust and found a partially built Blood Asp. Leave aside the rather large quantity of unquantified mechs sitting in storage boxes...
Well, the Omega was a project I've really wanted to do since I assembled and painted my first one, which is in a much earlier post. For the Omega, I wanted to repose it to appear walking, as is my general fancy. The legs really make such a thing easy given the large number of joints. The size, however, would cause problems since the bulky body and legs would tend to tip over to the side where the leg were lifted. To give more stability, a post from the base into the bottom of the foot solves the problem. One need only to paint the post to be inconspicuous... easy with flat black paint.
Here's the Omega assembled.
