So, I wanted to make this variant of the Griffin IIC 6. While not a super fan of the Griffin IIC, I like this variant with the Heavy Large Laser a bit. What's not to like about a really big gun on a light 'mech? In looking at the art work for it in TRO 3085, I tried to copy it as much as possible. The hunched over pose of the miniature, though, poses a problem in that the gun is likewise hunched over. Perhaps I should have thought that through a bit more. Nonetheless, here it is in Nova Cat colors, naturally.
A Battletech friend, Deus, once suggested using toothbrush bristles for antennae. Don't know why it took so long to try it, but it worked very well. And flexible doesn't snap off at the slightest pressure either. Would've probably been doing antennae this way for years, but I guess slow to learn.
Aside from the obvious modification with the Heavy Large Laser, there is another change to this miniature. Perhaps you can take it as a "where's Waldo" kind of moment to find it.
I've no intention of painting more Nova Cats, as I've got quite a bit already going. I did start a Republic of the Sphere unit, somewhat impromptu. And then there's this special paint scheme for a friend's Z-95 Headhunter for X-Wing, which is almost done... just the nose art to finish.
